4-H Fair !

These past few weeks have been very busy getting ready for fair. Finishing up posters, family living projects, testing recipes, grooming, training, clipping goats and all of the other animals. It was definitely a full few weeks and I can't believe it's already over! I had such a great time hanging out with my friends and family and I am so glad to be a part of the Dauphin County 4H program. It has given me so many opportunities that I would not have had otherwise.

This was the first year that I had the opportunity to show large animals. It was a great experience and one that I hope to continue to grow and learn from. This wouldn't have been possible this year without The Coble's allowing me to house livestock at their farm. I am extremely grateful and thankful for the opportunity.

Here are some pictures leading up to and during 4-H Fair 2016

(If you put your mouse over the pictures it will show the description!)

Moments leading up to fair:

Fair is only 3 days away!

Fair day 1!

Some memories that were captured during fair!

The three day fair was here and gone in what seemed like a matter of minutes but it sure was a great one! I would like to thank all of my 4H leaders that have helped me these past four years with all my projects and giving me so many amazing opportunities that I would have never been offered or been given without you!

Lori Jo- I have you to thank for getting me into raising rabbits and getting me hooked on 4H. You have taught me so much in these past four years and you have motivated me to be a great 4H'er and you have encouraged me to put my all into everything I do. You have also given me some amazing opportunities to teach others Thank you for taking me to Washington DC to help teach and share with the Nicaraguan 4H'ers how to successfully raise meat rabbits as income and a self-sutaining food source. You noticed my interest in wanting to teach others and my passion to research sustainable ways to live. It really means a lot that you helped me start working towards that goal.

Angie Shaw- I want to thank you for teaching me so many things these past few years. You and your family are so willing to jump right in to help and teach whenever it is needed. You and your family have introduced and taught me about so many different projects including fiber arts, canning, gardening, cheese making, livestock and so much more. I am so thankful for your willingness and eagerness to help not only myself but many more 4H'ers in any way needed. You and your family continue to inspire me to keep making the best better so thank you for that and everything else you have done to put other peoples’ needs before your own to make sure everyone is happy in the end.

Deb Schmittel- I want to thank you for all your help these past few years. From showing me different types of projects I can do through 4H to encouraging me to get up on a stage and present in front of a crowd. I would also like to thank you for helping me prepare for rabbit and educational competitions and giving me tips to make interviews, showmanship and presentations even better.

Steve and Cindy Foulke- I would like to thank both of you for helping me learn safety in shooting sports, teaching me safety in handling large animals, setting up animal fitting and showmanship clinics for the livestock club, your willingness to answer any questions I have and taking the time to help run 4H meetings every month. You guys go above and beyond what is expected to make sure everyone is included and having a great time so thank you!

There are many more people that have helped and supported me through 4H in these past few years and these are only a few of the many, many people I have to thank. I would not have had the opportunity to learn life long skills and have the passion/goals to be a future farmer without the Dauphin County 4H program and the people in it. I have created lifelong friendships and memories through this program and every day I strive to "Make the best better". Every day I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service and my health to better living for my club, my community, my country and my world.

One of my goals I have set for myself is to make a difference in the world and I know one day I will. If you have a goal for yourself I want you to do it. Don't hold it off, start now. I am sure that if you put your all into it you will be sure to achieve it, it is never to early or too late to start and growth happens through the obstacles and learning happens in the process of accomplishing a goal.
